Killer Elite Movie Trailer

With all the elaborate CGI filled 3D fantasy films of the summer currently in theaters, it's refreshing to see an old school action thriller coming soon to the screen. The plot of Killer Elite pits tough guys Jason Statham vs. Clive Owen in a contest of wills. But look who is also in the film... bad ass Robert DeNiro. Not the wimpy DeNiro we've been seeing lately in broad family comedy films. But the killer action DeNiro.

On the downside I wish they had come up with a better title for the film. Especially when there's already a pretty famous film titled THE Killer Elite that was directed by Sam Peckinpah back in 1975. This new Killer Elite is directed by Gary McKendry...who... I've never heard of. But he must be doing something right to assemble an awesome cast like this.

Oh... another fascinating element is the subtitle BASED ON A TRUE STORY.  Yeah. Apparently there are borderline super human, bad ass killers, jumping out of windows, shooting at each other and running wildly around the streets amongst us. Not sure how I feel about that yet. We'll see how this plays out.

Killer Elite is scheduled for release September 23, 2011. The film stars Jason Statham, Clive Owen, and Robert DeNiro. It is directed by Gary McKendry.

I actually just seen this movie last Tuesday(private screening) and I gotta say, really great action flick. Great cast of characters, lots of intense fight scenes, cool story even though it was sorta hard to keep up with everything that was going on, etc. Definitely a movie worth seeing in the theater.
